How we partner with industry and non-profits

Industry and non-profits may work with the Energy Institute through collaborations on a variety of research and education programs. Examples include the West Virginia Water Research Institute, US-China Clean Energy Research Center – Advanced Coal Technology Consortium, Appalachian Oil and Natural Gas Research Consortium and the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium. Typically participation is through the coordination of research in response to state or federal funding opportunities. The Energy Institute may work as a prime contractor or as a subcontractor on state or federally funded research. The institute may also conduct specific research on behalf of an industry or non-profit sponsor.


How we partner with WVU faculty

The Energy Institute provides the following services to affiliated WVU energy faculty and staff on select, multidisciplinary projects:
