How we partner with industry and non-profits

Industry and non-profits may work with WISER through collaborations on a variety of research and education programs. Typically participation is through the coordination of research in response to state or federal funding opportunities. WISER may work as a prime contractor or as a subcontractor on state or federally funded research. The institute may also conduct specific research on behalf of an industry or non-profit sponsor.


How we partner with WVU faculty

WISER provides the following services to affiliated WVU energy faculty and staff on select, multidisciplinary projects:

Pre-Proposal Capture

  • anticipating funding opportunities
  • federal budget intelligence
  • influencing funding agency priorities
  • advising state and federal officials

Interdisciplinary Coordination

  • promoting and supporting large, complex interdisciplinary efforts
  • facilitating exchange of ideas and expertise – hosting cross-college energy forums
  • promoting and supporting interdisciplinary research centers
  • obtaining and distributing interdisciplinary seed funding
  • routine dissemination of information to energy affiliates
